Belden Namah launches National Kenu & Kundu Festival

Alotau welcomed the month of November today with the launch of the National Kenu & Kundu Festival.

Minister for Tourism Arts and Culture Beldan Namah accompanied by New Zealand High Commissioner to PNG His Excellency Peter Zwarts did the honors after lunchtime today.

Namah encouraged with the right leadership and foresight, such activities that promote Culture and our Identify should take center stage in reinforcing our place and who we are to the world.

It was a huge turn out this first day of the festival, activities set to run through to the evening and will continue as such into Sunday ending with feasting.

The festival is making a comeback after its last one held in 2020, Namah has requested they combine it only for the year 2025, with 50th Independence Day celebrations, something thenfestival committee will consider.
