Pacific Labour Mobility Scheme lands in Eastern Highlands District

Major employers of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme visiting Unggai-Bena District in Eastern Highlands Province this week (NBC News)

On Tuesday, seven major employers under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme visited the Unggai-Bena District in Eastern Highlands Province.

The delegation included David Milard of Parkside Holdings Limited, Kellie Kolvin of Agri Labour Australia, Cheryl Dalgety and George Dalgety of Horesford Farming Group, Mark Kaiser of Australia Backpacker Central.

The team arrived in Goroka with Australian High Commission John Feakes, DFAT first secretary for economics Sinead Mulder-Jones, Australia Government Department of Employment and Workforce Relations Geoffrey Tolo, PNG Labour Mobility unit (PNGLMU) representatives led by Assistant Director Easther Seymour and the Pacific Labour Facility representatives.

Department of Higher Education, Research, Science & Technology Minister and Unggai-Bena MP Kinoka Feo with his DDA  were at the airport to welcome the delegation.

The purpose of their visit is to learn more about butchery, agriculture, and early childcare industries and workers.

The guests proceeded to the YC hall  and and addressed the Unggai-Bena youths on what is expected of them when in Australia.

They were given a tour of the district's three agricultural sites and the small and medium enterprise stalls related to agriculture.
