Social Democratic Party backs government

One of the major coalition partners, Social Democratic Party maintains commitment and loyalty to the government.
This was announced by party Leader and NCD Governor Powes Parkop, just hours before the vote of no confidence.
With six members , Governor Parkop says SDP will remain in government to face the VONC in Prime Minister James Marape.
" Like any government SDP is aware of issues and challenges affecting the people and working with the government to find solutions" Parkop said.
Deputy Party Leader and Defence Minister Dr Billy Joseph said changing the government is a serious matter.
" We as a party have not taken this lightly. We have discussed with our party executives , members and voters on who is the better Prime Minister between James Marape and Rainbo Paita. SDP believes in the leadership of the incumbent." he said
Dr Billy says there is no easy or quick fix to issues of national importance.
This is also not a good time to jump ship and cause instability in the country."
