A new Resource Centre was officially opened by Central Province Governor Rufina Peter on Saturday in Hula village, Central Province.

Hula village is located in the Rigo Coast Local Level Government along the Magi Highway. The construction of the new resource center was supported by the Central Provincial Government with a funding of K550,000.00.

Central Province Governor Rufina Peter received a warm welcome and was carried on a canoe platform by members of the United Church Man Boy Ministry, with a police band leading the way to the main area.

Other important guests at the opening ceremony included Edward Kila, the Acting Provincial Administrator of Central Province, members of the Central Provincial Executive Council, and local leaders.

Rufina Peter congratulated MKN Construction, a local contractor from Hula Village, for successfully finishing the project.

“I congratulate the contractor who partnered with us to build the resource center. It’s really hard to find a good contractor. When a contractor builds within budget and gives back something that’s worth the money that was given, it’s a plus,” said Rufina Peter.

Managing Director of MKN Construction Murray Kema said, it was his goal to build the Hula Resource Centre which began in 2022. He thanked the Central Provincial Government for their support, which helped him complete the project this year.

He said, “this year 2024, I made an attempt to reach our good madam governor, with good support of the administrator, the project was approved. I thank the Good Lord for this.

Today marks a history, for myself as small SME, my first local construction company, it was very challenging especially in this economic crisis we are in.

But we had to pursue and keep focus, and finally come into completion. I thank the Good Lord for giving me the strength and courage to see through my difficulties and struggles. When I look back and see the success.”

The new building features electricity, ceiling fans, a main hall, an office, and a kitchen.
