Ela Beach Remembrance Park Hosts 43rd commemorative

The 43rd Remembrance Day commemoration at ELA Beach Remembrance Park got off to a slow start this morning, with only a few groups of people initially gathering to pay their respects.
However, the atmosphere quickly changed as hundreds of residents in and around NCD began to fill the streets surrounding the park, filling both sides of the roads.
Inside the park, members of the disciplinary forces were already taking their positions, awaiting the arrival of dignitaries.
Commodore Philip Polewara, the parade host, was expected to arrive shortly, followed by Principal Guest NCD Governor Powes Parkop, Governor General Bob Dadae, and other members of the catafalque party.
As 8:50 am approached, the dignitaries took their positions in front of the monument, ready to begin the main program.
Master of Ceremony will deliver opening remarks at 9:00 am, followed by a prayer of invocation and Bible readings.
