Central Province Provincial member Rufina Peter embarks on historic Kokoda Track journey

Central Province Governor Rufina Peter successfully completed her seven-day trek along the historic Kokoda Trail, arriving at Owers Corner this morning.
The journey began on July 15th at Myola village, with the governor and her team being flown in by Farland Aviation Helicopter.
Mountain 2 Mountain, a local tracking company from Kagi Village, guided Ms. Peter and her team throughout the expedition.
The significance of this trek was to honor the sacrifices made by the people of the Mt. Koiari area during World War 2 along the Kokoda Track.
Ms. Peter also aimed to showcase the beauty of Central Province and understand the living conditions of the locals along the track.
On her journey, she visited several villages, including Naduri, Kagi, Lunumu, Efogi, Menari, Agulogo, and Naoro.
The trek continues to be a meaningful experience for the Central Provincial Member as she gains insights into the region and provides support where needed.
