Kimbe Chief stuck at Basilisk Passage in Port Moresby

Shipping vessel Kimbe Chief ran aground on reefs at the Basilisk Passage into Port Moresby Wharf.

In a statement, Steamships, trading as Consort Express Lines [CEL] confirmed that Kimbe Chief ran aground on route to Port Moresby for scheduled maintenance on Monday.
"The vessel was carrying no cargo (ballast only) at the time of the incident [and] there are no reported injuries,” to the crew.
