Jimmy Maladina pleads not guilty

Former Petroleum Minister Jimmy Maladina today pleaded not guilty to the charge of domestic assault in a Sydney court, in Australia.
The Esa'ala MP was arrested by New South Wales police over the weekend after calls were made following a domestic dispute between Maladina and a female at Bondi.
The ABC reports Mr Maladina faces one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Maladina appeared before the Waverley local court this morning, represented by counsel Margaret Cunneen SC who "entered a plea of not guilty".
The matter has been adjourned to next week.
A hearing date is expected to bet set then.
Mr Maladina is out on bail with conditions.
