PNG Resource Week set to start today

The much anticipated inaugural Papua New Guinea Resource Week starts today at the University of Papua New Guinea, in Port Moresby.
Delegates attending the PNG Resources week started arriving at the UPNG campus as early as 7am.
Registration started at 7am upon arrival of participants.
The PNG Chamber of Resources and Energy, is organizing this event where Prime Minister, James Marape is expected to deliver the keynote address.
Over the past weeks, the event has gained overwhelming response from landowners, their companies and local businesses, to participate in the event from July 1 to 4.
PNG CORE President Anthony Smare states, that due to high demand, an additional 200 seats have been made available, 100 for the Summit and another hundred for the Resource Week Gala Dinner.
He adds, this is part of efforts to provide a domestic platform for more engagement between stakeholders, in the resources sector.
Mr. Smare is further encouraging local businesses to attend and hear about the operations of the sector, which accounts for 90 per cent of PNG's annual exports, and the next 12 months’ outlook.
