The University of Technology is now in the process of accrediting the five programs that are taught under the Faculty of Engineering at its Lae Campus in Morobe Province.

The programs include; mechanical engineering, mining engineering, electrical and communication engineering, civil engineering, and mining and mineral processing.

Dean of Faculty of Engineering Dr. Shoeb Syed [picture insert] said course accreditation will measure the university’s world ranking and make graduates marketable international.

"We already have the provisional accreditation from Engineering Australia under the Washington accord but as we move forward, they said they are coming [in] September to assess us for full accreditation," Dr. Syed said.

"Once we get the full accreditation, all our students can use their degrees anywhere in the world [to find employment],"Dr. Syed said.
