Court invites interveners

The Supreme Court has invited the Speaker of Parliament Job Pomat and Attorney General Pila Niningi to join the court proceeding initiated by the Opposition leader.

The proceeding is in relation to the motion on Vote of No Confidence which was moved in the last Parliament session.

Presiding Judge Derek Hartshorn has made directions today for Speaker Pomat and Attorney General Niningi to file and serve their respective court applications to intervene in this supreme court proceeding.

Mr Pomat and Mr Niningi are given until Friday 14th June to file their court documents to join the proceeding.

The matter will return to court on Tuesday 18th June 2024 for further directions hearing.
