Parliament adjourns to 2pm

A major power outage in the National Parliament this morning forced the House to suspend to 2pm this afternoon.
Speaker Job Pomat when addressing the House alternately between English and tok pisin said “today is the day Papua New Guinea is looking forward to the process which is already in Parliament. Yumi mas kam na processim disla vonc or vote of no confidence. We must follow the process.
"I came into Parliament and felt the place to be hot and uncomfortable. It is because the main power is out. The small generator does not have the capacity to supply air conditioning, it can only supply lighting.
"For this reason, there won’t be any Parliament sitting this morning because we will feel hot. Parliament will suspend to 2 o’clock today.”
