A team of Geotechnical experts has been commissioned to investigate the cause of the significant landslide in Mulitaka.

They are currently in Enga Province, assessing and evaluating the situation.

The team is expected to release a comprehensive report by the end of this week, summarizing their findings.

The Acting director of the National Disaster Center, Laso Mano, has confirmed the arrival of Geotechnical Experts from Australia and New Zealand, who have been actively conducting investigations and assessments in Enga.

Preliminary findings indicate ongoing seismic activity and an unstable earth, leading to the decision of stopping heavy machinery from entering the disaster area in Mulitaka for the recovery of buried bodies.

Once the geotechnical experts provide their technical report, there may be a possibility of relocating the affected communities to a safer location.
