French President Emmanuel Macron conveys deepest condolences to the people of Enga

French President Emmanuel Macron has conveyed his deepest condolences to the people of Enga and Papua New Guineans, in the wake of the tragic landslide in Yambali village that struck Enga Province on 24 May.
In a tweet, President Macron says his thoughts are with the people of PNG, where a devastating landslide has taken the lives of hundreds".
The French President added "France stands ready to contribute to relief and reconstructions efforts".
The French Embassy also extended its heartfelt sympathy to those who have lost loved ones and to the many individuals still awaiting news of missing family members.
The Embassy in Port Moresby will remain in close contact with Papua New Guinean authorities and international partners to explore further avenues of support and assistance.
As always, the people of France stand with their brothers of Papua New Guinea, offering their deepest condolences and unwavering support during this difficult period.
While official figures are yet to be released, itts estimated between 500-600 are reported missing.
