Save the Children PNG assists with Mathematics texts books for grades 1 and 2 in Milne Bay

Milne Bay is amongst six provinces identified by Save the Children Papua New Guinea to assist with mathematics textbooks.
The province received its textbooks and is preparing to distribute them to over 400 elementary schools.
Under the three-year rollout of Boosting Education Standards Together with the BEST PNG project, Save the Children is committed to distributing Mathematics Textbooks to Grades 1 & 2 students in the six pilot provinces.
A local team has been hard at work sorting the two container loads that arrived in the province last week.
A representative from the team explains they are now able to supply the materials to all the grade one and two students or schools in the province.
The materials will be reorganized, repacked, and distributed to the four districts in the province.
The textbook distribution is in the final process while primary school teachers will undergo training
Other participating provinces include the Gulf, Western, West Sepik, Oro, and West New Britain Provinces.
The BEST PNG Project is funded by the Global Partnership for Education with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency [JICA] as the coordinating agency.
