Moresby South District Hospital to provide health service soon

Moresby South District Hospital will serve the nearly 400, 000 people of the National Capital District Electorate by end of this year.
Local MP and Foreign Affairs Minister Justin Tkatchenko said construction of the hospital is completed and the current scope of work is on building two doctors' houses, nursing quarters, and installation of standby Generator, water tanks, security lighting, fencing and carpark.
"We are finalising the main fit out worth K3 million with the NCD Health Division and National Department of Health.
"Thanks to the national government for the funding which will meet the cost of the latest medical equipment."
"It will be a signature district hospital with the latest quality medical equipment for eight-bed maternity ward, 10-bed inpatient, pharmacy, dental clinic and x-ray.”
In the area of education, Sevese Morea Primary School is nearing completion of the 16 brand new classrooms, assembly hall and teachers' administration block at the cost of about K4 million.
And with an increased population in the district, Mr Tkatchenko revealed plans,” to build another academy at Taurama to cater for school age children at 6 Mile, Taurama, Dogura, Gereka and the surrounding areas.
"The city is expanding towards Taurama but there are no schools, there which is why I want to build another academy similar to Butuka [Academy] over there.
