Police ordered to man the Madang Provincial Administration building

Madang's Provincial Administrator [PA] Frank Tonges Lau and public servants of the Madang Provincial Administration and Provincial Government, who have offices within the main provincial government building were refused entry to the office complex this morning by policemen.
The policemen including members of the Northern mobile group have been manning the man gates to the Sir Bato Bultin Complex since Saturday after the lock to the main gate and those to the office of the provincial administrator were changed by locksmiths at the orders of the police hierarchy, who were acting on advice from Government Chief Secretary, Ivan Pomaleu.
Mr Lau was told by police officers manning the gate that no one will be allowed access into the office complex, pending further advice from Port Moresby.
They also told him that access was also denied to the acting PA, Daniel Aloi, and that they must sort out their issues outside before they can be allowed to enter the provincial government headquarter.
Accessibility, however, was only allowed to a working committee that is in charge of the repatriation program of the late State Minister and Member for Usino-Bundi, Jimmy Uguro.
Meanwhile, the acting PA, Daniel Aloi is currently having a meeting with all sector heads and district administrators at the human resource conference room.
Agendas of the meeting are not known at this stage.
