The Port Moresby General Hospital's Labour ward successfully delivered forty-four newborn babies on Christmas Day.

Of the forty-four babies, seventeen were males, and twenty-seven were females.

The heaviest baby was a 4.5kilogram boy born to Esther Kupun, a 26-year-old mother from a mixed parentage of Jiwaka and Simbu provinces.
