The National Literacy Week was officially launched today, 31st September, in Northern Province to pave the way for government, schools, churches, communities, literacy practitioners and development partners to celebrate progress and discuss how literacy services can be improved in Papua New Guinea.
Quiny Tony, a 21-year-old woman living with down syndrome, has reportedly battled severe crusted scabies since 2019, following an outbreak of a highly contagious itchy skin condition locally referred to as 'I Don't Care'.
Parliament will resume on Tuesday 1st September, following its adjournment last week after the tabling of the historic 2019 Bougainville Referendum results.
