A social media outburst by passionate rugby league followers in the country has prompted Central Dabaris Rugby League to raise a series of concerns to the Papua New Guinea National Rugby League Competition.

Social media particularly in the rugby league space has been overwhelmed by the sin bin incident in the round 4 clash between Dabaris and Mt Hagen Eagles in John Amben Oval in Jiwaka.

An Eagles player was sin binned after copping a penalty but refused to leave the field as they game continued, resulting in an 18-18 draw.

“The matter is now with the PNG National Rugby League Competition Match Review Committee,” Dabaris club said in a statement.

“We trust that with the use of technology the vast resources and expertise now associated with the game will set a new standard moving forward.

“We will allow that process to take its course and expect that a judicious outcome will be delivered, upholding the integrity of the competition managers and does not bring the game further into disrepute.”

The Central Dabaris Rugby League franchise is one of the most transparent sporting organisation's where followers get to see, hear and read about programs and activities.

The match on Saturday was live streamed via their club’s social media page (Facebook).

The club believes the use of technology plays a huge role delivering content and experience, hence, PNG NRLC will look into this matter.
