Prime Minister James Marape has instructed for a special pay run to address the discrepancies faced by Defense Force personnel in their fortnight salary on Wednesday.

Mr Marape in responding to a question by the NBC says the issue resulted from the implementing of a scheduled 3-percent salary increment for all personnel.

He added some challenges were encountered within the Department of Defense's data processing when carrying out an update to the expanded pay structure.

The issue is currently being addressed.
