Look after your health seriously

Papua New Guineans have been challenged to take their health
seriously and not to live recklessly.
The challenge was issued by Health Secretary, Doctor Clement Malau,
as the country observes a week-long National Health Week this week.
Dr. Malau also challenged the health workforce to do more to improve
its service delivery to the people of this country:
"We Papua New Guineans, need to take control of our health. We in
the health services need to thing more about how we are providing
health services to our people.
"We need to have more commitment in the health workforce.
"I know, that there are so many people out there who are committed,
who want to help our people, but we haven't had such weeks, so this
week, will be the time when we all reflect on this and wellbeing of
everyone," Dr. Malau said.
The National Health week is aimed at raising awareness on various
services provided by the Health Department, for people to access if
and when they need them.
During the week, the Health Department will also be providing free
medical check ups and blood pressure tests, dental, birth
registration, antenatal, immunization and many other tests free of
charge to the public. |
