Hundreds of students out of school in Malalaua

Tue Aug 25, 2009 12:00pm

Hundreds of students at the Malalaua High School in the Gulf Province, have missed out on basic education for about a week now.

The school has been closed due to the shortage of food.

But provincial education officials, are working around the clock, to re-open the school.

Director for Education Services, says a submission has been prepared for the Provincial Administration, for immediate funds to help the school.

The provincial education officials blamed the school administration, for not managing the limited funds it received as school fee subsidies.

They say, parents inability to pay boarding fees for their children, also contributed to the situation facing the school.
