Education seminar begins in Port Moresby

A week-long national seminar to improve the quality of education in
the country, is underway in Port Moresby.
It's called "Developing a Conceptual Framework for achieving
Excellence in Education within the Governments Long Term Development
Strategy 2010-2030 and the National Strategic Plan 2010 to 2050."
Those at the seminar will discuss evolving new strategies, methods,
approaches and best practices, to address many of the challenges faced
in delivering the education service to people.
Officially opening the week-long seminar, Education Minister, James
Marape highlighted that the seminar was important in that, it will at
the end create a Framework for achieving quality excellence in
Education.
Mr Marape says with the LNG project said to bring bring in billions
of Kina in the next 30 years, it is an opportunity for the Department
to put in the right measures, to improve the country's education
system.
By the end of the seminar, a conceptual framework for achieving
excellence in education, will be created among others.
More than 300 participant are attending the seminar.
Participants, include leaders from the Education Department,
managers, officers, universities, churches and the interested public. |
