ACP Committee meetings underway

Representatives of the Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific group of
countries, have began their series of Committee meetings, to set the
pace for next week's Joint Parliamentary Assembly, in Port Moresby.
As per the program, the ACP Committees on Political Affairs, Economic
Development, Finance and Trade held their meetings, starting this
morning.
A church service will be held tomorrow to dedicate the Sir John Guise
Stadium, followed by more Committee meetings, which will continue over
the weekend.
Chairman of the ACP-EU Task Committee, Ambassador Allan Oaisa, said
representatives of the 79 member countries, will discuss various
global issues during the Assembly.
He said major issues Papua New Guinea may present at this meeting,
are HIV/AIDS, Bougainville and the impact of global finance crisis, on
the country's national economy. |
