Papua New Guinea Governor General Sir Bob Dadae has launched a group uniting some of Papua New Guinea’s most important movers and shakers.

The Eminent Envoys & Friends League’s (The League) is a platform for the country’s leaders , including academics, corporate professionals and senior statesmen to discuss research, innovation, national  security, and policy.

The league says the country is at a crossroads and there is overwhelming evidence that growth and standards of living are going backwards.

They say unemployment and inflation are increasing and the value of the country’s production is falling.

The League warns domestic and cross-border security are being compromised.

It says the circle of prominent people will work together to re-chart PNG’s future and that the aspirations of past leaders are being compromised by the younger generation.

The Eminent Envoys and Friends League was created by senior citizens and retired senior public servants, including former ambassadors and high Commissioners.
